Customer Reviews

It was special to see the big 5 and a Hyena sighting amongst others. We have been with ranger Morne before on a previous trip and unfortunately, the experience was not as pleasant from his side this time around. Points he can be coached on to better the experience 1.) He repeats information without variation too many times I lost count of the fact that animals do roam around the park and do not remain stationary at about 34 times he said it. The same followed though with other things and facts he already mentioned. 2.) As a result of 1 it lead to us arriving more than an hour late back at the welcome center to enjoy breakfast at the hotel which was actually semi-closed and only had a dry and limited breakfast experience not to mention the constant agitation caused on the repeats of information 3.) 1 also extended to a 1 on 1 conversation with a female quest who was seated just behind him which he constantly engaged into conversation initiated by her mostly but was reciprocal in nature, during these times his focus would be lost from the road as instinct wants one to make eye contact also leading to noticeably deceleration of the vehicle and again further agitation even when more than 1 guest audibly to him pointed out that we need to get a move on 4.) Because of nice sightings and the repetition as per 1 there was no comfort break which he did check with us if its ok gave an indicated time back at the welcome centre and without further mayor sighting due to 1 and 3 we arrived 45 minutes later than agreed upon time back. 5.) Over and above almost missing breakfast we had to cancel some plans with visitors we had at the resort the day as everything took longer than anticipated due to the delay caused. 6.) Although as you can see drilling the fact into us that animals moved around quite quickly when stopped by private vehicles he would convey the mayor sightings of the whole morning and their locations to private vehicles asking him that, strongly contradicting 1 and waisting our viewing time and overall could have avoided such big delay back 7.) To conclude he was very courteous 2 to American guests in the trip however when local South Africans had false sightings or alike he actually reacted quite rudely to them. Also when he made incorrect observations or mistakes he did not acknowledge them to start off not to even get to an apology seeing that he was very opinionated when a guest differed from him. As stated this was the second drive with Morne about 8 months apart and the experience from his side was total different irritating and agitating the second time around. To conclude I think he should focus on what he wants to say in general beforehand say it once or twice during the entire trip and try and remember what was said as to not repeat the whole time and switch the vehicle off and repeat..... I did again learn some new info so not saying rangers should not speak at all or give supplementary info however his repetition and contradiction of himself was just too much to bear after a while combined with his tardiness to get us back seemed deliberate seeing that some of us got visually and verbally agitated with him I trust this will assist in giving him the coaching as to ensure a pleasurable experience for all - Grundling C A

The guide was excellent and did all his best to get us the best views and gave good explanations on the wildlife. Our only complaint was that the safari started almost 30 minutes late due to the late arrival of some guests. Honestly the safari must leave on time specially bearing in mind that it was very cold and we had to wait for a long time under this cold condition. - Alex Lee

It was an amazing experience. The booking service was seamless. Every one was helpful every step of the way. Our guide was the best, very knowledgeable and tried to provide the best experience ever. - Sinovuyo Tyali
